Abstract: In the simulation of structural strength, the finite element method has always been an important means. In this paper, the extended finite element method (XFEM) was used to simulate the three-point bending process of carbon fiber composite laminates. The load-displacement curves obtained by simulation were compared with the experimental results, and it was found that the extended finite element method could accurately simulate the fracture propagation process of carbon fiber composite laminates during three-point bending. The findings of this paper can reduce part of the destructive experiments, so as to save the related costs.
