Analytic Static Deflection Solutions of Uniform Cantilever Beams Resting on Nonlinear Elastic Rotational and Translational Boundary

Abstract:
In this article, the modified Adomian decomposition method is applied to develop the analytic static deflection solution of uniform cantilever beam which is subjected to nonlinear translational and rotational springs at one free end, and applied by the axial tensile and nonlinear transverse loads. Based on the Bernoulli-Euler beam theory, the deflection function and the corresponding coefficients of uniform cantilever beam have been determined. The solution method can be successfully applied to solve the problems of beams with nonlinear boundaries and transverse loads. The results are also compared with those obtained by the perturbation method. From these examples introduced for the related nonlinear beam problems, the numerical analysis results show that modified Adomain decomposition method is accurate and efficient.
